A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an out-of-date email address or has made a mistake. The drawback of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of spam, but this issue can be resolved by using anti-spam protection software. It’s also crucial to remember that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward incoming emails to a 3rd-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
Setting up a catch-all mailbox will be really easy in case you have a Linux website hosting with us. You can activate this option through our powerful, albeit simple-to-use Email Manager tool, which is included in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage your hosting account. You’ll see all the mailboxes that you have created displayed in alphabetical order and on the right side of each one there will be a small "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously let you know if a particular mailbox gets all the messages for a given domain name or not. With one mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this option at any time. If there’s active email forwarding or if some other mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a certain domain, you’ll get an alert from our system. The latter won’t replace/deactivate anything automatically or without your consent.
